snaps from mexico, spring 2015.

The Caribbean Sea is a special place to me. I remember visiting my mom's office when I was little and seeing her Tropical Islands calendar. I flipped through it over and over, wishing I was there with every bit of me. My first visit when I was about 9 stuck with me. I had never seen those colors, or felt sea water that felt like a bath. The humidity embraced me. The Maya temples stayed in my imagination, and were a tremendous influence of my choosing to be an archaeology major in college. Now that I've spent more and more time there, those colors still breathe into my thoughts, and I hope I can call those colors, that warm air, that embracing salt water, my home someday. I worry I'll spend my life sitting in an office, staring at that same calendar, longing for those waters.
